hmmph

So, I feel like crap. I'm loathe to call it the winter blues but I feel like I haven't seen the sun in months; it's grey, grey and OH! more grey outside. It's dark when you wake up and then gets dark again at 4pm. People can actually leave their Christmas lights on all day because it's dark enough.

I think the weather might just be a convenient excuse but man, I am just not used to seeing grey clouds day after day after day after day with no end in sight. I'm sick of being cold.

Unrelated, I seem to have developed a large obsession wtih dried cranberries. My friend Melon (no, not her real name :P) and I discovered at Year 10 camp that Craisins send us hyper. They don't seem to do that anymore but I do seem unable to PUT THE BAG DOWN! I take a small serve out, eat it, and then go back for more. They're sweet and tangy and the texture is delectable. It's not just the dried cranberries; I'm a sucker for anything flavoured or scented cranberry. Including, but not limited to, juice, candles, cookies, bread, candy... worst of all, Starbuck's Cranberry Bliss Bars.

*drool*

I never really thought of myself as a scale whore but I guess I am. I hop on it every morning these days, even though I know I shouldn't. So far this week my weight has ranged from 179 to 184 (ahhhhh). I think what I'm feeling could be described as a bubbling cauldron: 1 cup of lack of discipline, 1 cup laziness, 2 cups homesickness, a tablespoon of fatigue and a dash of winter blues.

I feel like I need a big slap in the face. The scenario goes something like this:

Drill Sergeant (DS): *SLAP*
Stef (ME): Ow.
DS: GET ON THAT ELLPTICAL TRAINER!
ME: No.
DS: DO IT! I WANT AT LEAST 30 MINUTES!
ME: No.
DS: Alright, that's it! GIMME 10 PUSH-UPS!
ME: Bite me.
DS: *pulls hair out in frustration*
ME: *eats handful of dried cranberries*

I'm a cranberry fan too. Especially vodka with cranberry ahhhhhhh. I can't buy the dried ones or I'd eat the lot.

Why shouldn't you hop on the scales whenever you like? How and when you get on the scales is up to you. If you like to check it every day, check away. I think it only becomes a problem when you let it dictate your happiness or upset you...

Gah, I posted a comment and Blogger ate it. Blogger you need to go on a diet!!!

I was saying that I love cranberry too. Vodka and cranberry, ahhhhh. I can't buy the dried ones because if I did I'd inhale the lot in one mouthful.

And why shouldn't you weigh yourself daily, if that's what you want to do? How often you weigh yourself is up to you. I think it only becomes a 'problem' if you let the scales dictate your mood/ happiness. But personally I think weighing daily can give us some perspective, as we can see how we fluctuate from day to day. Just my 2 cents worth, anyway! :)

JayKay ~ Ahhh, music to my ears! ;)

Kimba ~ LOL Well, Blogger threw your entry back up; it's bulimic! ;)

Good point about the scales... I'd never thought of it like that before. I guess I just don't like to encourage my addictive personality! Obsession is way too rampant in my life so I'm trying to cut way back :P
